We were happy to have Mindy stay with us last night! We love having her & had a great time playing last night and again this morning!
Took Haze to the Allergist today. He looked him over & discussed
history and then recommended allergy testing where they prick you with
40ish different pollens/foods and watch your skin to see which pricks
react. He also said we could try to test for an allergy to cold by
putting an ice cube on his arm for a minute and watching the reaction. I
asked what the treatment would be if he was allergic to any/all pricks.
He said it would be daily Zyrtec and avoidance of triggers. Which is
what we're already doing. He said sometimes kids just have hives for no
reason and grow out of them. Needless to say, we are not sold on doing
such an invasive test on Haze if it won't change the treatment. So we'll
probably just keep him on Zyrtec and hold off on the test for now.
Andlie was on Zyrtec at this age for several months for severe allergies
an when we took her off, it seemed that she had outgrown them. Hoping
for the same this time.
Hazey was such a good boy and was so happy & cooperative with the doctor. He's been on Zyrtec for a couple weeks now and it sure seems to be helping keep him happy & healthy. Cheers to that!
