Andlie has been star of the week all week this week at school! Today was her extra special day where the family got to come and spotlight her! Since it was her special day, we did her hair like a star. And then she posed like a star for a picture. She was super excited for us to come and has been counting down the days since the note was sent home last Tuesday.
Daddy came home from work and we loaded everyone up & headed to her classroom. Since she loves pizza from "the pizza store" (Little Cesars), we brought pizza to share with the entire class! Each kid got a small slice of pepperoni! Andlie loved that.
While they were eating their pizza, we got to spend 20 minutes talking about our sweet Andlie.
I brought a bag with me and pulled things out one by one and then told a story about them. Here's what was in the bag.
Minnie Mouse Ears: Andlie loves Disneyland! She loves to spin the Tea Cups as fast as they'll go and make the rest of the family so dizzy!
Pants (with holes in the knees): Andlie's pants always have holes in them because she is always running & jumping & playing!
Shin Guard: Andlie loves to play soccer. One time during one of her games, she scored FIVE goals!
Training Wheel: Andlie learned to ride a big kid bike when she was only 3 years old. And then, she asked Daddy to take the training wheels off when she was only 4 years old! She taught herself how to ride a bike without training wheels in 1 day.
Hot Pad: Andlie made it! She loves to create art and is always asking for tape, yarn, markers.
Medical Boot: Andlie broke her leg twice! Once when she was almost 2 by jumping off the couch and once when she was 3 by dropping a weight on it. She has also been stung by a bee (age 5) and broken her teeth (age 2)!
Watch: Andlie loves to tease! She learned to tease from her Grampa. On her birthday, she asked for a Frozen watch so he bought a watch, put it in water, and turned it into an ice cube - or a Frozen watch! Then he gave her the real Frozen watch.
iPad: I showed a video of Andlie doing a flip on the trampoline. She taught herself how to do this too! If she wants to learn something, she does. She is active and likes to be outside doing things!
Tree Branch: Andlie always has grass & dirt & sticks in her hair because she loves to be outside and especially loves to climb trees!
Homemade Books: Andlie writes her own books! She loves art. I read these books to the class.
Then I told a few more fun things about Andlie:
She loves to sled! Last year, her & her Daddy made their own sledding hill at our house!
She doesn't like cake! She had cookies for a birthday cake this year!
She has lost 2 teeth - one on Christmas Eve!
Daddy is her jungle gym! She demonstrated one of their tricks during the presentation.
We had a great time in her classroom celebrating her! We are so proud to be her parents!
On our way out the door, she showed us a the Watch Dogs bulletin board and she found the picture of the day that Daddy was a Watch DOG (Dads of Great Students)! Andlie loved this day and looked forward to it for a month. Daddy got to spend the entire day at the school helping in the classroom and hanging out at recess! She has been begging him to sign up for another day since!
We snapped a quick picture before Daddy went back to work! (Nora was already sleeping.)
We finished the day at the pool! Nora got to wear her new swimsuit! All 3 kids were fishies at the pool! I asked Andlie if she wanted to take her star hair out before we went & she said, "No, I want everyone to know I was star of the week!"
